Sleep deprivation is one type of condition where in the person experiences on not having proper sleep. It can be acute deprivation or chronic deprivation. The chronic type of deprivation usually causes weight gain or loss, clumsiness, daytime sleepiness, and fatigue. This also affects cognitive functions and and even the brain. However, in some cases for people, it helps them increase their alertness and their energy, and also, enhances their mood.

Insomnia has been reaching already the epidemic proportion in most developing countries in which the people are becoming very busy. And because of this, stress is very common to them, thus, not having an ample time to rest. Not getting an enough sleep is equivalent to a lot of negative effects. Practicing the use of essential oils for sleep can very helpful.

One way of reaping its benefits would include using it as a diffuser or it may be applied to the feet. When applying, use only a few drops which is diluted in the carrier oil. A few drops may also be added to your conditioner, skin moisturizer, or shampoo.

A cedarwood contains not only the powerful anti inflammatory, antiseptic, and expectorant qualities but also the relaxing, comforting, and calming qualities. Its warms scent and its aromatic woodsy properties help in making a person feel like snuggling his or her own favorite book and hot tea or coffee. A cedarwood diffuser can help the stimulation of pineal glands for releasing melatonin, important for the sleeping regulation. Few drops will be applied into forehead, neck, and wrists.

Fourth is the orange. An orange oil can help in the reduction of anxiety. All the citrus oils have the uplifting properties that help depression. One disadvantage here is causing a photo sensitivity when being exposed to a light for 12 hours when used. So it would be better to use this at night. Few drops are applied to the abdomen. Skin cream used for soothing may be mixed with an orange oil and coconut oil.

Fifth is a valerian. In sleeping, this is very common as well. It helps a person fall asleep faster and helps the person stay asleep for several hours. It includes properties of grounding and of calming. This is applied unto feet and wrists.

By using the essential oils stated above or using it with the combination of two or more types is a very effective way in promoting sleep. It is also very important that you realize not all of these may work for you. At times, it may work to some people but not to you.

So always check the oils with qualified practitioners before using it. Testing them is always the good idea to ensure no allergies. And lastly, buy those types having high and the best qualities to acquire the best results.
